Located about a 10-minute drive from JR Takayama Station, this village museum is a collection of facilities where you can experience traditional Hida farming life. There are over 30 buildings, including four designated as important cultural properties by the country, and gassho-zukuri houses and other structures that have been relocated and restored from all over Hida. In this place, where the watermill turns and time passes quietly, the nostalgic life of Hida's farming and mountain villages and seasonal events that have been passed down in Hida since ancient times are recreated and passed on to future generations.
Another attraction is that they regularly hold demonstrations and hands-on classes under the motto "See, touch, and experience."
